Coaching Services

Teaching math is a difficult job and teachers deserve support to be as effective as possible. When this happens, students are better served and teachers are happier and more fulfilled. I partner with teachers to support them, offer tools and guidance to help them identify areas they’d like to improve in and to achieve that improvement.

A coaching series would include

• Building conceptual understanding in addition to fluency with calculations

• Planning lessons - keeping broad learning goals at the forefront while aligning with state standards or school curriculums

• Learning environment - creating safe respectful classrooms, building a productive climate

• Classroom observations

• Gathering info related to student understanding

• Working with challenges in the classroom

• Creating benchmarks to measure success

• Meeting the needs of traditionally under-served students

• Identifying areas for growth

• Promoting growth mindsets in teachers and helping them to communicate this to students

• Providing tools to measure progress

• Structuring class time
